I found out about Little Dragon in February of 2008 right before I took off to backpack in Nepal and India. I was addicted immediately. They even made it onto my “favorite artists of 2008″ Christmas compilation. Their self titled album is damn near one of my favorites….if you don’t have it, you should. Honestly, I was a little underwhelmed by their most recent album, Machine Dreams, so I’m gonna go ahead and post my two favorite songs from their first. I saw them twice while i was living in LA, I believe both times at the Roxy….the first show was obviously in their early-adopter stage (an NPR backed show of some sort)…a scattered crowd with a few people who knew their lyrics, but then the second time, I feel like I watched them realize-they-were-becoming-something. They were so happy and appreciative of the fans, which had increased ten-fold since their debut show a few months beforehand. It was nice to witness, quite powerful. Hopefully they can keep it up.
